About Remanda Xiang (Luxe Milonga Organizer)

Tango came into Remanda’s life in 2007 simply because she was tired of Salsa after dancing and performing for 4 years. Not an exciting cause but that has lead to one of the most beautiful thing in her life ever since……

To Remanda, tango is a mysterious exploration and inspiration that teaches how to embrace, how to feel and express feelings in a musical way, and most importantly, allows her to create & tell a story with her partner. Remanda says the pleasure and satisfaction she receives from tango is indescribable and Remanda is grateful that tango is part of her life and always will be.

She would like to thank her husband Brian for the support to create this milonga for her beloved tango community. She is happy that she found herself a partner-in-crime in Jenna Rohrbacher to create  for everyone in Portland and beyond!

About Jenna Rohrbacher (ex-Luxe Milonga Organizer)

To Jenna, dancing tango is an ongoing search for the complete; her elegant dance embodies the traditional roles of Argentine tango and beyond. In the last three years, Jenna has taught and performed around the U.S. with several acclaimed dancers. In the summer of 2008, Jenna taught at the Tango Mango Festival in Devonshire, England with Rebecca Smith. In February 2009, she performed with Alex Krebs at the Maui TangoFest, and in July 2009, she performed with Dominic Bridge at Chicago Tango Week. In 2010, they taught and performed several times in New York and in Buenos Aires. In September 2010, Jenna wrote, produced, and directed Tango Éxtasis! for the Miracle Theater’s La Luna Nueva festival; the following month, she taught and performed for Portland’s very own TangoFest. Jenna is currently in New York working with world-renowned tango instructor Robin Thomas. She is excited for this new project with Remanda and wishes everyone to come relax, dance, and above all, have a blast at the Luxe Milonga!
